Membership change – ODAC

Organismo Dominicano de Acreditación (ODAC) is now a Full Member of ILAC. 

ODAC become a signatory to the ILAC MRA for testing and calibration (ISO/IEC 17025) and inspection (ISO/IEC 17020).  ODAC originally joined ILAC as an Associate Member in 2018, and we are now pleased to welcome ODAC as a Full Member of ILAC.

Revised ILAC P14 Published

The latest version of ILAC P14:09/2020 ILAC Policy for Measurement Uncertainty in Calibration has been published and is available from https://ilac.org/publications-and-resources/ilac-policy-series/

This document sets out the requirements and guidelines for the estimation and statement of uncertainty in calibration. This latest revision reflects the 2017 versions of ISO/IEC 17011 and ISO/IEC 17025. The policy continues to be based on the Guide to Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM) and retains the common understanding of the term CMC from the joint declaration issued by the BIPM and ILAC https://ilac.org/about-ilac/partnerships/international-partners/bipm/ 

The implementation date for this 09/2020 version of ILAC P14 is March 2021.

The signatory status of The Bureau of Laboratory Quality Standards, Department of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Public Health (BLQS-DMSc), Thailand, has been extended to include RMP (ISO 17034).

ILAC has published a factsheet covering key points for immigration agencies and border force regulators that should be addressed if SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) testing is being considered for inclusion in traveller screening protocols. RMP and the ILAC MRA

As a result of the extension of the recognition of the APAC MRA to the ILAC MRA to include the accreditation of RMP using ISO 17034 last month, there are now 10 additional signatories to the ILAC MRA for the accreditation of RMP namely NATA (Australia), CNAS (China), NABL (India), HKAS (Hong Kong, China), IANZ (New Zealand), AAC Analitica (Russia), IAJapan (Japan), BLA-DSS (Thailand), A2LA and ANAB (United States of America).  There are now a total of 19 signatories to the ILAC MRA for the accreditation of RMP representing 127 reference material producers currently covered by the ILAC MRA.

JCTLM COVID-19 special edition newsletter issued

The JCTLM (Joint Committee for Traceability in Laboratory Medicine) recently invited its members and stakeholders to contribute material for an edition of their newsletter focused on the reliability of measurements in COVID-19 diagnostics. This edition of the newsletter has now been published and is available from https://www.bipm.org/utils/common/pdf/JCTLM/JCTLM-Newsletter-2020-COVID-19.pdf

The aim of this edition of the newsletter is to facilitate knowledge transfer of the on-going activities in our community in particular on new developments that focus on the reliability of measurements in COVID-19 diagnostics, including reference materials, reference measurement methods, interlaboratory comparisons and relevant research, publications and seminars.

PNGLAS signatory status withdrawn

The signatory status of PNGLAS (Papua New Guinea) to the ILAC MRA has been withdrawn as a result of the voluntary withdrawal by PNGLAS of their signatory status to the APAC MRA.

APAC MRA recognition to the ILAC MRA now includes RMP!

We are pleased to advise that the recognition of the APAC MRA to the ILAC MRA now includes the accreditation of RMP using ISO 17034 as a result of the recent ILAC Arrangement Council ballot and the evaluation of APAC for this scope extension.
