What was the inspiration behind your design?
The inspiration behind our design is the art of clay pottery.
Clay pottery and accreditation of conformity assessment both involve diverse techniques. In clay pottery, artists use various methods like hand-building, wheel-throwing, and sculpting to create unique pieces. Similarly, accreditation of conformity assessment ensures products and services meet certain standards through adapting methods suited for different industries, ensuring quality and safety. Both clay pottery and accreditation encourage creativity and innovation while upholding standards, and fostering diverse approaches to achieve excellence.
Moreover, clay pottery and accreditation are great mediums in their own right. As a malleable medium of artistic expression, clay, through an artistic hand, can be transformed into a useful, symbolic, and cultural artifact. Comparably, accreditation also acts as a medium for transformation across various sectors and industries by setting standards and encouraging continuous progress. This concept strongly resonates with the theme, “Accreditation: Empowering Tomorrow and Shaping the Future,” of World Accreditation Day 2024.
How does your poster illustrate this year’s theme? The design reflects accreditation’s critical and enabling role in shaping a better and more sustainable world. The mechanical hand holding the earth on the right side represents the continuing industrial revolution. With accreditation, organizations will uphold standards of digital technology and ensure the smooth and interconnected operation of new and diverse technologies. Accreditation supports businesses in providing the best service and quality products to consumers. The potter’s hand holding the globe and securing it in place shows that accreditation is an agent of change. Accreditation provides opportunities for organizations responsible for the development of new technologies to be equipped with the necessary tools to ensure quality and safety in their processes. Additionally, it helps with the management of overall environmental effects, and provides assurance of sustainable practices throughout the supply chain. Download the winning poster here. |
