China has mandated (in-country) electro-magnetic compatibility testing for Class II and III medical devices. As the Chinese testing standard is identical to IEC 60601-1-2 (2004), China is able to accept test reports from overseas laboratories accredited by accreditation bodies that are members of ILAC (i.e. signatories to the ILAC MRA), as an alternative to in-country testing by a Chinese laboratory.

June 9th, 2014 will mark World Accreditation Day. The focus this year is on the role accreditation plays in providing confidence in the provision of energy.
The day will be celebrated across the world. A joint statement from the Chairs of ILAC and IAF, as well as promotional materials, are available from World Acreditation 2014.

OAA Signatory Status Extended
The Signatory status of Organismo Argentino de Acreditación (OAA) to the ILAC MRA has been extended to include Inspection.
At the ILAC Arrangement Council meeting on 23 October in Seoul, The Kyrgyz Center of Accreditation (KCA), The Kyrgyz Republic, became a signatory to the ILAC MRA.
After many years as an Affiliate member of ILAC, KCA became an Associate member of ILAC in February 2008. In September 2012 a full initial peer evaluation of KCA was carried out by an ILAC evaluation team.
KCA is congratulated on gaining signatory status to the ILAC MRA for testing (ISO/IEC 17025) and welcomed as a Full Member of ILAC.
