The signatory status of Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, Inc. (PJLA), USA, has been extended to include medical testing (ISO 15189).

As a result of a recent ballot, ILAC G27:07/2019 Guidance on measurements performed as part of an inspection process has been published.

This document is intended to provide guidance on measurements carried out as part of an inspection activity for both inspection bodies and the accreditation bodies assessing inspection bodies.

Infographic now available to support the ILAC MRA 2018 Annual report that was published last month!

Emirates National Accreditation System (ENAS) is now a Full Member of ILAC. 

ENAS has become a signatory to the ILAC MRA for testing (ISO/IEC 17025) and calibration (ISO/IEC 17025).  ENAS originally joined ILAC as an Associate member on 8 November 2005, and we are now pleased to welcome ENAS as a Full Member of ILAC.

The ILAC MRA, as announced last month, now includes the accreditation of proficiency testing providers (PTP) using ISO/IEC 17043.

Since announcing this extension last month and the recognition of the EA MLA to the ILAC MRA covering the accreditation of PTP, there are now 13 signatories to the ILAC MRA for the accreditation of PTP using ISO/IEC 17043 namely BELAC (Belgium), FINAS (Finland), CAI (Czech Republic), DANAK (Denmark), DAkkS (Germany), EGAC (Egypt), EYSD (Greece), ACCREDIA (Italy), RvA (The Netherlands), SNAS (Slovakia), ENAC (Spain), TURKAK (Turkey) and UKAS (United Kingdom). This represents more than 135 proficiency testing providers currently covered by the ILAC MRA.

The signatory status of Slovenian Accreditation (SA), Slovenia, has been extended to include medical testing (ISO 15189).

The ILAC MRA has now been extended to include the accreditation of proficiency testing providers (PTP) using ISO/IEC 17043!

This extension of the ILAC MRA has been implemented as a result of the recent publication of ILAC R6 that allows for the expansion of the MRA with a positive decision by the Arrangement Council of one region and the decision of the members of the ILAC Arrangement Council, taken in May 2018, that endorsed the recommendation of the AMC to recognise the EA MLA for the accreditation of PTP, as a result of the extra-ordinary evaluation of EA carried out in 2017.

We are therefore pleased to advise that the recognition of the EA MLA to the ILAC MRA now includes the accreditation of PTP using ISO/IEC 17043. In addition, there are now 5 signatories to the ILAC MRA for the accreditation of PTP using ISO 17043, namely FINAS (Finland), CAI (Czech Republic), RvA (The Netherlands), ENAC (Spain) and UKAS (United Kingdom).

ILAC P4:05/2019 ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement: Policy and Management.
This document provides details on the objectives, foundation, management, procedures and decisions associated with the ILAC MRA. The revision of this document includes criteria for competence of those involved in the evaluation report review process and details for the extension of the ILAC MRA to include the accreditation of proficiency testing providers and reference material producers.

ILAC P5:05/2019 ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement: Scope and Obligations.
This document describes the elements of a Mutual Recognition Arrangement for testing and calibration laboratory and inspection body accreditation. The revision includes the policy for transition periods for the implementation of revised standards covered by the ILAC MRA and information relating to the extension of the ILAC MRA to include the accreditation of proficiency testing providers.

ILAC R6:05/2019 Structure of the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement and Procedure for Expansion of the Scope of the ILAC Arrangement.
This document drescribes the structure of the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement as well as the steps to be used by ILAC to consider and approve new international accreditation programs for inclusion in the ILAC Arrangement.
