The latest edition of the bi-annual ILAC Newsletter, Issue 56 – October 2019, has now been published.

The newsletter includes information on the international, regional and national updates on accreditation and conformity assessment from ILAC members and liaisons, as well as the ILAC Chair and Secretariat.

The ILAC AIC has organised a Workshop: Accreditation of Biobanking for 22 October 2019 as part of the ILAC/IAF annual meetings being held in Frankfurt.

The agenda for this workshop is now available and provides an opportunity to hear from members of ISO 276 responsible for the development of ISO 20387. In addition there are speakers sharing their early experiences in the implementation of this standard from both the perspective of Biobanks and accreditation.

We are pleased to advise that the recognition of the APAC MRA to the ILAC MRA now includes the accreditation of PTP using ISO/IEC 17043 as a result of the recent ILAC Arrangement Council ballot and the 2017/18 evaluation of APLAC (now APAC).

The signatory status of Organismo Nacional de Acreditación de Colombia (ONAC), Columbia, has been extended to include medical testing (ISO 15189). The full list of signatories to the ILAC MRA is available here.

The signatory status of Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB), Philipppines, has been extended to include medical testing (ISO 15189) and inspection (ISO/IEC 17020).

Accreditation Office for Standards Conformity Assessment Capacity (AOSC) is now a Full Member of ILAC. 

AOSC has become a signatory to the ILAC MRA for testing (ISO/IEC 17025) and calibration (ISO/IEC 17025).  AOSC originally joined ILAC as an Associate member on 9 October 2013, and we are now pleased to welcome AOSC as a Full Member of ILAC.

As a result of the recent ballot, ILAC G8:09/2019 Guidelines on Decision Rules and Statements of Conformity has been published.

This publication was extensively revised by the ILAC Accreditation and Laboratory Committees to provide guidance to laboratories, assessors, regulators and customers in the use of decision rules when issuing statements of conformity to specifications or standards as required in the 2017 edition of ISO/IEC 17025.
