» Recognised Regional Cooperation Bodies

The ILAC MRA links the existing regional MRAs/MLAs of the Recognised Regional Cooperation Bodies.

For the purposes of the ILAC MRA, and based on ILAC’s evaluation and recognition of the regional MRAs/MLAs, ILAC delegates authority to its Recognised Regional Cooperation Bodies for the evaluation, surveillance, re-evaluation and associated decision making relating to the signatory status of the accreditation bodies that are ILAC Full Members (ILAC MRA signatories).

Formal recognition of a regional cooperation body under the ILAC MRA is based on an evaluation of the regional cooperation body’s competence to operate a MRA by an ILAC team composed of independent peer evaluators from other ILAC Regional Cooperation Bodies and Accreditation Bodies.

There are currently 3 Regional Cooperation Bodies that are recognised under the ILAC MRA:

ILAC is encouraging the development of new regional cooperation bodies to complete world-wide coverage of the ILAC MRA. There are non-recognised regional cooperation bodies developing their MRA evaluation processes before requesting evaluation and recognition by ILAC.

The contact details for all the regional cooperation bodies are available from the ILAC members by category page.
