The USCPSC issued a final rule on 15 December 2017 regarding new safety standards for children’s folding chairs and stools. The rule at 16 CFR Part 1232 incorporates by reference, ASTM F2613-17a (Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Children’s Chairs and Stools). This final rule will be effective from the 15th June 2018.

Third party testing authorities that wish to be CPSC-accepted for this new regulation must submit an application, available here. Please note that to be considered for CPSC-acceptance, the scope of accreditation must include a specific reference to “16 CFR Part 1232”.
