ILAC – UNIDO Partnership

 

ILAC and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) have a longstanding relationship.

 

Memorandum of Understanding

The purpose of the UNIDO-ILAC-IAF Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is to maintain a strategic partnership between UNIDO, ILAC and IAF in the field of accreditation, as part of conformity assessment, in order to enhance the impact of industrial development on economic growth. UNIDO, ILAC and IAF agree to coordinate their activities in areas where their functions and activities are complementary and mutually supportive.

The UNIDO-ILAC-IAF MoU was initially signed in 2004. The MoU was re-affirmed by the UNIDO Director General, the ILAC Chair and the IAF Chair on 24 November 2017 at a signing ceremony held at the UNIDO offices in Vienna, Austria.

Accreditation in support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

UNIDO has published the brochure: The Role of Accreditation in the Context of Sustainable Development Goals providing background information and examples of how and where accreditation is supporting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
