ILAC has a partnership with the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC).

 

Memorandum of Understanding

The ILAC-IFCC Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was re-signed on 14 January 2019 by the ILAC Chair, Etty Feller, and the IFCC President, Howard Morris.

 

Medical Laboratory Accreditation

ILAC and IFCC have produced a presentation, with commentary, on “Medical laboratory accreditation: what is it and why is it important?”. The presentation was produced following the publication of a related article by ILAC and IFCC. The presentation and article describe medical laboratory accreditation in compliance with ISO 15189:2012, the process for seeking accreditation, and the importance of accreditation to patients and the public, users of the laboratory, healthcare authorities and regulators, laboratory management and staff.
